ICS Holi Ka Mela 

Indian Cultural Society (ICS) of Jacksonville, FL, celebrated the Indian festival of colors, Holi on March 28th, 2009 at Hanna Park from 11:00am till 4:00pm.

About 500 children and adults, took part in the festivities.

The activities included carnival games (bean bag toss, basketball toss, ring toss, bucket and coin game and face painting) at nominal cost and bounce house(Free) for the children. There was also DJ music, Karaoke singing by local singers and dancing to keep the adults entertained. The men also made use of the volleyball court for a game of volleyball.

There were never ending lines in front of the cotton candy, sno cone and sugarcane juice stalls which were very popular due to the warm weather.Food was provided by Flavors Indian restaurant at a nominal price, which included hot jilebi and bhatura, both of them made on site.

The day came to an end with everyone having a glass of Thandai while playing with colors and water to mark the fesival of Holi. The committee memebers and many volunteers from community worked really hard to make this a successful event.
